YLA Update for September 27

• Here are possible activities for the year:
• School Supply Drive - End of Ocotber
• Car Show - Beginning of 2020, need volunters to take place at AJ Elementary, $10 entry fee, 50/50 raffles, food and trophies
• Volunteer at nursing home - lunch with residents
• Toy Drive during winter- moeny is easier than items
• Teacher pageant in spring
• Fundraising for Youth in Government

• Here are the dates for YLA events:
• Fall Conference  (November 22-24) $165 at Jackson's Mill
• Model UN (March 6-8) $270 in Mineral Wells
• Youth in Government (April 23-25) $270 in Charleston
• Let Mr. Zukowski know which YLA events you intend to register for.
• You will need to register online as a student for $20 to become affiliated with Grafton High School YLA.

Next meeting will be Frida,y October 11 during AA.

YLA at GHS 2019-20

Some students met with Mr. Zukowski on Friday, September 6 to talk about plans this school year.  This was an informal meeting.  We will have a formal meeting on Thursday, September 12 to have a formal election after nominations that will be submitted to Mr. Zukowski by Wednesday.

Read the following for details:

• If you want to run for one of the following officers, see Mr. Zukowski by Wednesday to be put on a ballot for Thursday morning.
• Here are the offices up for consideration:  President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chaplain, and Historian
• Here are some possibilities for community service projects:
• School supply drive
• Homecoming Spirit week (week of October 5)
• Volunteer at a nursing home
• Volunteer at Cross Country Meet
• Check on possibly cleaning after a soccer or football game
